Access is Denied Error When password for an all-user network connection in Windows Vista
Suppose that:
- To connect a Windows Vista computer to a destination network you use the Windows Vista Get Connected Wizard.
- You save the user and name and password to be used the network connection for all users.

- The password expires on the destination to which you are trying establish the network connection.
In this case, when try to establish the connection next time you will be prompted to change the password. However, when you try to do so the following errors message is displayed:
Cannot delete saved password.
Error 5: Access is denied.
Additionally, although the new password is updated on the destination network you are trying to connect to, the new password is not saved on your Windows Vista computer. This is the reason why you are required to re-enter the new password when you try to establish a connection with the destination network.
Workaround Method
- Open Start menu, in the Start Search box, type network and sharing , and then select the Network and Sharing Center option from the Programs list.
If prompted, provide the administrator password or your confirmation and then select Continue.
- In the Task pane on the left, select the Connect to a network option, select the network connection that you need to configure, and then select Connect.
- In the Connect Network_Name dialog box that is displayed, select [To change the saved password, click here], and then enter your new updated password.
- Next, select the Save this user name and password for the following users check box, select Anyone who uses this computer, and then type password for an administrator user account and then select Connect.
